I shared with you all a picture of my unorganized coupons and my new organizational plan. I dedicated a whole day to clipping and organizing. Yes, it took a majority of the day. Of course I had Captain M. and Mr. B. helping me out and that is part of the reason it took so long! Coupon clipping is eventful when you have a 2 and 4 year old helping. We had a a few emergencies during the process- two spilled cups of coffee and a naked 2 year old who needed a bath immediately (I’ll spare you the details!).

The funniest moment of the whole experience happened when Captain M. got a hold of the CVS flyer. He was flipping through the flyer and saw a picture of Zhu Zhu Pets. He cut the picture out and said, “Mom don’t throw this coupon away. I really want a Zhu Zhu Pet!” He is one lucky little guy since I did head to CVS this morning and purchased four Zhu Zhu pets for the price of one!

Even though it took much longer to organize my coupons with the boys “helping”, it is teaching them valuable lessons. They know what a coupon is and they are excited about them. They know mommy only buys things that are on sale. Eventually they will understand how coupons allow me to buy the things they want and need.
