For busy families, a slow cooker  is a must! My Crock Pot is a huge time saver for me. Since my boys are young, I can easy stretch a whole chicken into 2-3 meals. Once the chicken is cooked, I take the meat off the bone. Having precooked chicken on hand makes dinner preparation so easy.

Slow Cooker Whole Chicken

(1) Whole chicken
(1) Cup chicken broth
(1) Lime, cut in quarters
(1) Stalk celery chopped
(1) Tablespoon Olive Oil
Handful of fresh sage leaves
Salt, Pepper and Rosemary

Wash the chicken under water and take the giblets out. Place the lime pieces, celery and sage inside the chicken. Place in the slow cooker. Pour the chicken broth in the slow cooker. Drizzle the olive oil over the top of the chicken and sprinkle with salt, pepper and rosemary. Cook on low for 6 hours.

Really, you can use a variety of items to season the chicken. I went through my produce drawer and found that the lime, celery and sage needed to be used up. The chicken came out moist and full of flavor!
