Weekly Menu Plan: A New Strategy

menu plan monday

Following a menu plan during the week has made dinnertime less stressful. I place the menu on the refrigerator. This has been a hug help since hubby can start dinner if he is home first. If hubby is unfamiliar with the recipe, he at least gets the prep started.

The one thing I am changing is the weekend menu plan. I have found that we need a lot of flexibility on the weekends. I like to experiment with recipes plus we tend to have a lot of spur-of-the-moment activities on the weekend. I have decided to come up with a new strategy this week- only menu plan for the work week.

Dinner for the Work Week

Monday: Homemade Macaroni & Cheese and Ham (both in freezer)

Tuesday: Beef Stroganoff & Broccoli

Wednesday: Leftovers

Thursday: Chicken Enchiladas (cook extra chicken)

Friday: Cheesy Chicken Empanadas (Use leftover chicken from Thursday and make homemade pie crust. Make extra for the freezer.)

What’s on your menu for the week? Have you made any changes to your menu plan strategy?

  1. I put my menu on the fridge, too. Tuesdays my hubby is responsible for dinners. I usually try to pick something easy but I still end up with a text or two before I get home. :)

Stopping by from MPM – good luck with your meals this week!

    • At least I am not alone with the hubby situation! He usually calls me to make sure he is doing things correctly. He is learning though! Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I leave Sat & Sun open too…I try and plan one thing to make and leave one day open. If I end up not making that dish, it just goes on next week’s menu.

    Stopping by from MPM :)

    • Yes, the work week plan is working out well! I love to get creative in the kitchen when I have more time on the weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Yum, I’m trying your empanadas!
