heartfelt holiday

Did you just panic a little?

Don’t panic but start getting prepared. We are on a mission to make a lot of our Christmas gifts this year. That means that we need to start making items now. I have had some things in the works already like Apple Jelly, Strawberry Jam, Fig Preserves and Homemade Vanilla Extract. Our focus this year is heartfelt gifts. Not only are homemade gifts easier on the pocket book but they are made with love. We are giving our time rather than a lot of money.

My goal is to also help all of you to spend less this Holiday season. I will start posting ideas for making gifts plus ideas for buying inexpensive gifts for those that are not inclined to make their own. I do need your help though! If you are crafty or have a creative homemade gift idea I would love it if you shared with all of us! Fill out the contact me form HERE if you have an idea you want to share.

I have already been thinking about Christmas. I have a possible (probable) layoff looming in early 2012, and so have already told my extended family no gifts from us this year (it’s a LARGE family, and making something for everyone is more than I could handle), and my nuclear family has agreed to all handmade gifts! The pressure of gift buying being off is amazing! I anticipate a much more fun, emotional, and spiritual holiday this year!

    • Hi Susan,
I am so sorry to hear about your looming layoff. I am glad that you are trying to prepare though. I am so excited about handmade gifts too! It is really a lot of fun making everything. Plus we all have so much stuff that we don’t really need. Keeping my fingers crossed for your job!
