Using Nature to Decorate

Fall Decor

I LOVE Fall! The orange, red, yellow and green colors are my favorite. The trees in my area are starting to turn colors and we are expecting a spectacular showing this year. Last weekend I decorated my dining room area for Fall. I like to use nature to decorate as there are so many textures and colors. Plus, some items I used were free such as pine cones and acorn caps from my yard!

Acorn Caps for Decorating

I placed some acorn caps in one of my renewed glass pieces and then planted a votive candle right in the middle. The texture of the acorn caps is great for decorating. Mr. B also used acorn caps for an art project. He made a caterpillar by gluing the caps on paper!

pince cones and gords

We also have pine cones on the ground. I collected a few that were in good shape. I usually think of pine cones as a winter decoration but I thought they looked great with the gourds too. I purchased the guards from a local farm for just a couple of dollars- they gave me a great deal!

Decor doesn’t have to cost you a lot of money. Use nature to help you out!
