Thankful Branches

Every Thanksgiving I find a way for family members to display what they are thankful for. I love hearing what everyone give thanks for- especially the children! I came across The Thankful Tree over at Simply Vintagegirl Blog and I fell in love. Instead of cutting out paper circles, we decided to make paper leaves. The branches of the tree represent our family while the leaves represent all of the blessings in our lives.

I found birch branches at the Dollar Store or you could also use branches from your yard. Hubby cut out leaves from scrapbooking paper and I love how they turned out. I asked my boys what they were thankful for and simply wrote the words on the back of the leaves as we hung them on the branches.

I placed the branches in my renewed glass hurricane that I made from a Dollar Tree vase. The thankful branches are displayed on our mantel as a reminder of how thankful we are.
