24 Day Challenge: Day 6 Tempted With a Cupcake

My alarm went off at 6 am this morning in order for me to get a quick workout in before heading to the office. One thing that has changed drastically for me in the last week is that I am actually able to get up in the morning! No pushing snooze and no begging voice in the back of my head saying “go back to sleep”.  After my Mandarin Orange Spark drink, it was time to workout. I felt good this morning even though I had an audience as I worked out since both boys woke up early too.

I pulled into the parking lot at work and the first thing I see is a coworker carrying a big pastry box. Uh oh! I have been off sugar for 6 days and counting trying to make it to 24. Thankfully they were lemon cupcakes and not chocolate! It was so much easier to turn down lemon!

Cupcakes, donuts, candy, cookies, etc. are never in short supply at our dental office. Patients, other Dr.’s and my coworkers keep a steady stream of “junk” coming through the door.

I am so incredibly proud of myself for having the willpower to not eat that cupcake as the rest of my coworkers sat around discussing how good it was. Honestly, I wasn’t too upset about not having the cupcake. I feel good both physically and mentally being on this AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge. I had not felt good for months and months and knew it was time for a change. Now I won’t be off sugar forever, but my goal in this challenge is to change my eating habits so I will have less cravings. And it’s working!

I also wanted to say that it wasn’t just about the cupcake today. It was about setting my mind to do something. Having that willpower to say no. Finding that inner strength to reach for healthy options. Becoming a healthier me. AdvoCare is helping me with all of that!

  1. Advocare rocks! I’ve never felt this good!! I owe it all to the 24-Day Challenge….certainly helps “retrain” the brain to develop a stronger willpower. And it always feels good to pat yourself on the back all because that willpower kicked in when the temptation was right in front of you! Kudo’s to you!

  2. Renae! We are hearing the same results from hundreds of people that are Choosing the Challenge. Stats just came out about the obesity rate in America and Advocare is definitely doing something about it. It’s creating healthier, happier people. Thanks for sharing your experience!
