Sing Sophie

Yesterday my daughter, Sophia, and I (Litsa) made our way to the public library for The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carl but instead came home with a delightful book called Sing, Sophie—among others!

When I looked for this book, Sing, Sophie, on Amazon, I wasn’t surprised to find that it had a FIVE star rating! It is truly a fun summer book for children of all ages! I encourage you to read it to your children this week—-or summer! It’s a perfect treat on a rainy day! You can read it aloud and create VOICE. Allow Sophie to have the voice of a singing cowgirl! Dress the parts and have fun singing her songs! Or maybe, create songs of your own.

The author Dayle Ann Dodds created a book with an array of literary elements: rhyming words, characters, alliteration and more! Don’t miss the chance to point out these literary elements to your children as they read this book aloud and/or with you!

And as you make your summer plans——vacations or staycations—include the local library! There’s a wealth of resources in your library.

Are you involving your child in a summer reading program at your local library?
