Cranberry Apple Pie Recipe

If you are looking for a new pie recipe for Thanksgiving, try this Cranberry Apple Pie with Cream Cheese! The crunchy topping is wonderful with the cream cheese bottom. It is a light, airy and seasonal recipe that was originally from  here.

Cranberry Apple Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • ½ cup firm packed brown sugar, divided
  • 1 egg
  • 1 unbaked pie crust
  • 2 cups sliced, peeled apples
  • ½ cup halved cranberries
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup flour
  • ⅓ cup oatmeal
  • ½ stick butter
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Mix the cream cheese and ¼ cup brown sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until well-blended. Next blend in the egg.
  3. Pour the cream cheese into a pastry shell in pie dish.
  4. Toss apples and cranberries with a ½ teaspoon of the cinnamon. Spoon over cream cheese mixture.
  5. In a large bowl mix flour, oats, remaining ¼ cup brown sugar, and ½ teaspoon cinnamon. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
* For a crunchier topping add ⅓ cup chopped walnuts or pecans.
