Cinnamon Pear Oatmeal Recipe

Ingredients
  • 15 oz can of pear halves, in juice
  • water
  • 2 cups quick cooking or old fashioned oats
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅓ cup walnuts, chopped
  • ¼ cup dark brown sugar
  • Milk (optional)
Instructions
  1. Drain pears and reserve juice in a 4 cup measuring cup. Add water to juice to equal 3 ½ cups of liquid.
  2. Chop pear halves and set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan bring juice/water mixture to a boil. Stir in oats, cinnamon and salt. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 1 minute, stir occasionally. (If using old fashioned oats, cook for 5 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat, add brown sugar and nuts and mix well before gently folding in pears.
  5. Spoon into individual bowls and add milk before serving if desired. Serve and Enjoy!
