Recipe type: Side Dish
Ingredients
  • 6-8 slices of bread (or heels & cut offs )
  • 3-4 tbsp. of butter, melted or olive oil
  • 2 tsp. garlic & herb seasoning (or corresponding measurement for preferred seasoning)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
  2. Cut bread into small chunks; set aside.
  3. Mix melted butter and seasonings together until lump free.
  4. In a large bowl GENTLY toss together bread chunks and seasoned butter until all chunks are evenly coated.
  5. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, toss and bake an additional 10-15 minutes or until golden brown, crisp & crunchy!
  6. Use to top salad and seal the remaining in a Ziploc bag or airtight container for future use!
Notes
* Use more or less butter or oil depending on amount of bread you have to make croutons. 3-4 tbsp. is adequate for 6-8 slices of bread or the equivalent but if you’re making a huge batch use more butter or oil and adjust amount of seasoning too. * Ranch powder, garlic & onion powder, dried parsley or dried basil would also be great flavors for croutons! Experiment & find your favorite!
