I made the easiest dessert for Easter and everyone loved it! You can use a variety of fruit- from canned to frozen.

Dump Cake Recipe

(2) Large Cans Fruit (Pineapple in juice is a favorite)
Yellow Cake Mix
1 Stick Butter

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Dump fruit into a 9×13″ baking pan. Do not drain the juice from the fruit. I used one can of cherry pie filling and 3 cups frozen blueberries.

Dump cake mix on top of fruit. Cut butter into slices and place on top of cake mix. You want the whole cake mix surface to be covered with pats of butter. Bake for about 1 hour.

Tips

  • If using frozen fruit, defrost slightly. Also, depending on the type of fruit, you might want to add a bit of sugar.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream- yummy!
  • Add chopped nuts on top of the butter before baking for an extra crunch.
