Produce Keeper

Summer is a wonderful time for fresh produce. Unfortunately the warm and humid weather also makes produce spoil quickly. Since we live out in the country, I do my grocery shopping once a week. I need to make my fresh produce last the week or we go without!

I recently tried the Good Cook Produce Keepers and I am in love! I have always wondered if produce keepers actually extend the life. After putting the Good Cook Produce Keepers to the test, I can tell you they do!

Watermelon Avocado FEta

I cut up a watermelon to make the Watermelon, Avocado & Feta Salad I posted this morning. For the leftover watermelon, I placed some in a Good Cook Melon Keeper and some in a regular bowl. I let the melon sit for 24 hours.

Watermelon Other Bowl Watermelon Good Cook

The result was the melon in the other bowl was watery. The melon in the Good Cook melon bowl looked fresher and held it’s shape better.

Cantalope Keeper

Of course the Good Cook Melon Keeper was meant for a half of a cantaloupe. But it works perfectly for cutup melon of any type!

Tomato Keeper

I also tried the Good Cook Tomato Keeper. I found that the tomato stored in a baggie was watery and had lost it’s shape. The tomato in the keeper held up great for several days!

Store unused peppers, melons, tomatoes, bananas, and asparagus in these colorful produce keepers. Keep them crisp and fresh longer in these specialized, transparent lid containers prevents contents from spoiling or smelling. The containers are BPA free and have color coded clear lids so you can see through!

Hard to pick a favorite one…but bananas seem to get thrown out the most in our house from spoiling on the counter. We live not too far from you so I too only get to shop once a week for groceries!
