I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Heinz Vinegar. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and as a thank you for participating.

Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar is a staple in my household. I use apple cider vinegar for dressing and marinade recipes frequently. For most of my meat marinades, I use apple cider vinegar, olive oil, soy sauce, garlic, pepper and salt. I don’t measure the ingredients, it’s all just pour and dump! But the flavor of the meat is amazing!

Refrigerator Pickles

I recently used Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar for my refrigerator pickles. The apple cider vinegar has the full 5 percent acidity
required for canning and pickling. My refrigerator dill pickles are crisp and tangy!

Heinz also has an Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar. I was not familiar with the Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar. It is all natural, raw and unpasteurized. It has the “mother” of vinegar still in it. That means Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar has the compound created naturally during the fermentation process still in it – it’s not filtered out.

The Heinz Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar is stronger smelling than the regular Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar. It is also more cloudy due to the “mother”.

Fruit Fly Trap

The strong smell of apple cider vinegar makes it a great trap for fruit flies! We eat a lot of fruit and the fruit flies are a huge problem in the warmer months. To make a fruit fly trap, simply add a small amount apple cider vinegar to the bottom of a shallow bowl. Add a drop of dishwashing liquid detergent and mix. Place the bowl on your counter top and the fruit flies will be attracted by the scent. When they land, they will drown.
