If you have leftover candy canes, you can make them into heart shapes for Valentine’s Day! You might also check your grocery stores for clearance candy canes, I saw some at Kroger this week for $0.25.
This idea came from Make and Takes. I made into lollipops and Capt. M will give them to his friends at school.
What you need:
Small candy canes
Lollipop sticks
Non-stick cooking spray
Cookie sheet

Heat your oven to 250 degrees. Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray. Unwrap the candy canes. Arrange candy canes so that they make a heart shape- two per lollipop. Lay the lollipop stick between the two candy canes. Place the cookie sheet in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.

Remove the cookie sheet and immediately start pinching the candy canes together and form them to the lollipop stick. Be careful, the candy is hot! You only have a couple of minutes of working time though.

I have also seen people fill in the heart shape with chocolate! We didn’t get to that part yet but my boys were thrilled to see the heart shaped candy cane lollipops.
