We’re a few weeks into the new year but not without the buzz of ‘Budgetary Burdens’ whether you’re still paying off Christmas purchases, attacking major medical payments, paying for new tires, braces for two children, or…….!?! You just might need to Stop, Drop, & Roll—–or hibernate perhaps!?!

Winter is a great season to use what’s in your pantry for menu planning, snacks, and ‘eat what’s in the house’ for one meal a day or two a week! If your closets are bulging with cleaning supplies, give the hired help a break and enlist the help of everyone in your family to clean! Or perhaps don’t buy what you don’t need this month! Hibernate from buying everything and stick to just the basics.

A great way to stick with just buying the basics is to have one buyer and one shopping list for everything! The household heads that deem what is spent from the family budget can approve the purchases. So if you’re going to the store to buy milk, bread, and eggs—-the buyer cannot come home with cookies, a candy bar, and a new cookie sheet!?!

January is a great month to think through each month of the year—a yearly budget. How will your family invest? What home repairs need to be made? Are there any extra jobs that one or two individuals in the family can take on to cover unforeseen expenses throughout the year?

Living debt free begins with a plan.

Are you willing to invest in your future by managing your money this month?
