Winding Road

Are you stuck in a rut? Is life stagnant? Make life a journey and not just a routine!

Life’s like a road that you travel on
When there’s one day here and the next day gone
Sometimes you bend and sometimes you stand
Sometimes you turn your back to the wind – Thomas William Cochrane

This last year has been a whirlwind! You’ve probably noticed the lack of posts here on How to Have it All. I’ve worked really hard in creating balance in my family life. With working full time, raising boys and competition karate there was no way I could keep up with the demands of the blog. Although I enjoy writing and sharing tips and recipes, I knew for my own health I needed to cut back.

What I’ve learned through this journey is that life is ever changing. I don’t want it to become stagnant and routine. For several years I just trudged through life caring for my family and working. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t intriguing and challenging either. When I fell in love with karate, my world changed. I felt alive again! I was (and still am) challenged. Karate has brought out the inner beast – allowing me to work not only on my physical self but my mental weakness as well. I’m so passionate about karate and my dojo family that I could literally talk your ear off!

If your life feels stagnant, challenge yourself to start a new hobby. Get out of your comfort zone. Change things up. Make life a highway – full of curves and bumps and challenges!

There are five years of posts here on How to Have it All and I certainly don’t want to just let everything go. So I have finally come to peace with the idea of just writing when I can and posting when I can.
