I (Litsa) can’t believe that I’m already finished with my February issue of Redbook Magazine—and oh.what.fun. it was to read through Fresh, fun (and frugal!) date-night ideas By Allison Berry! I really liked her list: Go on your first date….AGAIN—–go low-tech…….leave a note….or three…...Her list goes on but I love each little idea!

Full of love + frugalness—these two traits must make my list of top five best characteristics. I’m a helpless romantic and as a stay at home mom (finishing year seven), I have to be f.r.u.g.a.l. even when I want to skip double checking the bottom line——but in all actuality, my parents taught me to be frugal through modeling it themselves so even if I wanted to splurge, I’d probably still be frugal. Love it! Think about it…..there’s more to share when you’re frugal….and everyone LOVES gifts!

Save those little frugal gifts to attach to your love notes. Allison noted in her article, “Take it from a true love expert: The Bachelor veteran Sean Lowe (author of the new book For the Right Reasons) turns date night into date day” by leaving his wife love notes prior to the night of their date! Double the fun—and yes…the anticipation keeps the romance alive. I, personally, love to wake up to a pot of coffee being prepped for me—ready to brew but even without the caffeine, my pulse races when I see a note scribbled on the counter! And low-tech….what a perk to a date night or family time….I could fall in love alone with this suggestion! It’s wonderful to turn off our gadgets and really plug in to those around us—-give a try!

And if time allows, recreate that first date night AGAIN….

Or take advantage of low gas prices and fill up your gas tank! Drive around with your date……..

Where will you go without a planned agenda!?!
