Make ibotta Work for You

If you have not signed up for ibotta, the free smartpohone savings app, you will want to signup soon! It takes just a few minutes to signup and you can use your smartphone to let the savings begin!

Here is a recount of how ibotta works:

  • Sign up HERE.
  • Before shopping, choose your offers. There are different values based on if you do surveys or watch videos. The more offers you choose, the more cash you’ll earn.
  • Purchase your chosen items at participating stores- there are many available nationwide.
  • Take a photo of your receipt with your smartphone. ibotta will verify your purchases and credit your account within 24 hours.
  • Every time you redeem an offer, they send you a new one.

But the question is how do I fit in ibotta to my coupon clipping/printing/filing system——-and grocery trips??? Personally, I (Litsa) have found that I must go prepared to the grocery with my list in hand as usual. We all have our own types of grocery lists. My personal grocery list has an * by items that I have coupons for—-as I place these items in my grocery cart, I pull the coupon for the items and place them in my hand for the cashier. You can place an “i” for ibotta on your grocery list but easier than that is just saving your receipt (UPC code for items with throw-away packaging like cardboard boxes). Then pick one day a week to cash in your ibotta savings. IF you have time immediately after your grocery trip, take the opportunity to scan your receipt right then. If not, throw your receipt in a shoebox or drawer (with all other receipts for the month)—add cutout UPCS to your box with their item name on back of the cutout. Then, use your one designated day to cash in your ibotta savings.

On Sundays, I have added check ibotta offers to my to do list after my Sunday coupon clipping/filing time. Working on Sunday afternoon helps me organize my days throughout the week: Coupons aligned with meal planning, schedules for the week, bills to pay and more! Thus, cashing in with ibotta fits nicely here with my schedule and doesn’t seem overwhelming to cash in on grocery savings with one more venue!
