Michaels Penny Clearance Items!

michaels penny clearance

We stopped by Michaels today for a few craft items I needed. The Fall fake flowers and leaves were 90% off. However, the maple pick rang up at just one penny! I grabbed several of those since they are great for adding a little color to crafts.

I also came across the Remarkables! Celebration Plates which are Dry Erase Ceramic Plates. They were in a pile of clearance items but not marked. I asked for a price check and they rang up at one penny! The plates are plain white and we plan to paint a little decoration on them and add ribbon to give as gifts!

So if you are near a Michaels, stop in to see what you can find for a penny! Remember items may not be marked. I am not sure if there are other items marked down to a penny- my boys were awful in the store!

  2. I just want to say that I work for Michaels. Our penny items are donated to places that need these items. I have actually boxed them up. I also want to say that I understand the value and excitement of a bargain! For many years I raised 4 children by myself with no child support. I get it. Unfortunately most women come in and take every penny item that is there. How many lego erasers does one need? How about pink breast cancer slinky’s? Just because it’s a penny, does not mean you need 160 of them. We live in a very greedy time, and I think that is apparent when we have sights like these. How about take a few and leave some for others? Just a thought….

    • Hi Debi,
Thanks for taking the time to write a comment. Just because I purchased TWO penny items, doesn’t mean that I am greeting and clearing the shelves. I always tell people to be considerate and not clear shelves. If you were a regular follower of my site, you would know that I never encourage taking more than you need. Thanks for your concerns though.

  3. Debi,
I am not one of those who takes everything but I will tell you that I know many women that do. So what if they do? Most of them give them away to school, after school programs, children hospitals, senior homes, etc. It’s not like they keep every single item for themselves. As the store gives items away, so do the people that purchase those penny items so please don’t be so judgmental or call people greedy because they take everything.

    • If you don’t take all of it, the store clears them and not all stores donate, many of them throw them in the dumpster or trash compactor. I took a bunch of breast cancer awareness stuff, and I donated it to relay for life and THEY WERE THRILLED! Your Michaels may donate, which is awesome, but many do not. It is a waste that a lot of this stuff ends up in landfills and michaels won’t even let their employees have it.

    • Hi Mandy,
Look in the clearance section at your Michaels store. Sometimes they are not marked! A couple of times I was buying the item because it was marked down and then it rang up for a penny! A great surprise!
