If you don’t have a lot of room in your yard for a garden, you can always plant vegetables in containers. My sister painted these pots for her peppers this year. I love how the painted pots came out! They add a splash of color to her backyard.

To make these decorative painted pots, you will need spray paint and sandpaper. My sister used two different colors of paint per pot for contrast. Spray the first color of paint on the pot and let it dry. Spray the second color of paint over-top of the first color. When the paint is dry, take some sandpaper and start roughing up the paint. Sand the areas that you want the first color you used to pop through.

For the top ring of the pot, my sister used chalkboard spray paint. The chalkboard paint really makes these pots unique! Simply write the name of what is growing in each pot with chalk after all of the paint is dry. Reuse the pot each season by erasing the chalk and rewriting the plant name!
