Big, bold black letters caught my attention in a current magazine that read, “The nutrient you need now.” Below the heading, the mini summary spotlighted potassium: “You know calcium is good for your bones, but potassium also plays a huge role in keeping them strong. Your bone tissue is constantly being broken down and rebuilt; when it’s broken down more than it’s rebuilt, your bones get weaker.”

We might all be aware that bananas are loaded in potassium but potassium salts are in all fruits and vegetables. They help reduce the breakdown of bone tissue. Thus, if we’re eating five to eight servings of fruits and vegetables a day, we’ll help keep our bones healthy.

It’s the perfect season to load up on fresh fruits and vegetables that will keep your body moving and bone tissue super strong! If you have been dealing with shin splints, even more reason to add potassium to your diet. Plus potassium helps your body combat muscle cramps.

If you are eating clean, you will definitely have an easy time adding potassium into your diet!
