Green juice

I am a believer in the power of juicing!

i put juicing to the ultimate test last week as hubby and both boys were very sick. You might remember that we had to take Mr. B to urgent care on Thanksgiving with a 104 degree fever. Mr. B slept with me for three nights since he was so sick. I was fully exposed to coughing, sneezing, mucus and vomit. Yes, I know that paints a lovely picture! Capt. M and hubby also ended up getting sick but not as severe as Mr. B.

It’s been 10 days now and I think I can officially say that I am in the clear (knock on wood!).

I drank my green juice and ate fairly healthy throughout the week long ordeal. I honestly think juicing kept my immune system strong so that my body could fight off all of the germs I was exposed too. Right now my juice consists of beets (with the greens), kale, spinach, carrots, apples, pear, celery, ginger, habanero pepper, swiss chard, cucumber, parsley, cilantro and lemons. It’s a lot to put in one juice recipe but the health benefits of each item are so important.

If you haven’t tried juicing, give it a try! Read more about the health benefits of juicing.

Other juicing recipes: Apple, Carrot & Spinach Juice,, Super Juice Recipe and Apple, Carrot & Celery Juice.
