One of the easiest ways to save on your grocery bill is to shop in season. Buying produce that is in season will be at the lowest price for the year. Although I will miss all of the summer produce like berries and melons, the fall produce tends to keep for a longer period!

Here is a list of produce that tends to be in season in the Fall (September, October, November) for most of the country:

Apples
Broccoli
Brussel Sprouts
Cabbage
Cauliflower
Celery
Cranberries
Dates
Grapes
Greens
Lettuce
Mushrooms
Nuts
Okra
Mandarin Oranges
Pears Chile
Peppers
Persimmons
Pomegranates
Shallots
Spinach
Winter Squash
Star Fruit
Sweet Potatoes
