Runner

Monday, August 12th was my (Litsa’s) daughter’s first day of preschool for the 2013-14 school year. Only half days…….Thus, I knew I wanted and needed to get my workout in first in the morning! You guessed it!?! I don’t rush out the door at five to pave the ground with my running shoes! My body is still in sleep mode. However, as we fall back into routine, my goal is start back with Rodney Yee’s A.M. Yoga workout prior to preschool drop-off!

As I was having my coffee this morning, the rain poured down in droves! This didn’t discourage me! I still laced up my running shoes——–and after morning drop-off I ran/walked stairs (tossing in a few jumping jacks when I reached the top of the stairs)! Are you with me? Four songs of hot, humid, sweaty Monday morning MOVEMENT.

Here are my notes of encouragement:

  • Workout first thing in the morning——don’t let the weather derail your plans. Have a plan B!
  • Challenge your body. It CAN. Stairs, jacks, hills———I look for FREE workouts to maintain our budget!
  • Dress in workout gear that makes you feel good. Don’t know where to start. Shop 6PM. They have a huge selection for you! I love their Adidas running shorts. Airy, cool—even in W. TN humid weather!
  • Read fitness magazines to encourage you. I love Runner’s World. I’m not there with every runner but I am running! Got it!?! Move as you can!
  • Log your goals, weight, and fitness workouts. I use Walgreen’s Dashboard. I love to earn points that will turn into dollars for me to spend at Walgreens.

Where are you in your workout plans? It’s August, but our new year goals can still begin today!
