On my birthday I woke up to this beautiful bouquet of flowers on the table! It was early in the morning on a Sunday which had me guessing on how hubby was able to purchase these flowers! He told me that for the last week he had noticed wildflowers growing near our house. Instead of buying flowers, he went out to the fields early in the morning to collect wildflowers for my bouquet!

I absolutely adore these flowers – even more than store bought flowers! They are so bright and cheery! If you happen to live in an area where wildflowers are plentiful, collect them for a bouquet. There are a couple of things to keep in mind for wildflowers:

  1. Some wildflowers may be weeds that cause allergies! Yes, my original bouquet contained ragweed which I am very allergic too. Hubby easily pulled the ragweed out and discarded it though!
  2. The wildflowers may have little bugs or spiders! We have seen a few little, harmless buggies on the flowers. Try to shake the flowers out before placing them in a bouquet.

Buying flower bouquets are so expensive. Be creative and make your own bouquets! My birthday bouquet meant so much more knowing that hubby put effort into creating it!
