Save More at the Grocery Store: Bulk Bins

We have been eating a lot more whole grain items recently. I have found that buying these items in bulk is actually cheaper. I am lucky to have a discount grocery store in a neighboring county. They sell many products in bulk at reasonable prices.

For example:

Dried Cranberries (unsweetened) – $1.99/lb.

Whole Oatmeal – $0.69/lb.

Whole Long Grain Rice – $0.71/lb.

Raisins – $2.05/ lb.

Mason jars work really well for storing items that you buy in bulk. You might also check your grocery store for bulk bins. Having a price book is really helpful when you need to compare bulk prices to prepackaged items. Remember that many times packages are smaller than a pound (like 8 oz.) so you will need to do a little math!

Do you buy items from the bulk bins?
