Last November when we were invited to a birthday party, my daughter (then 4) created this mini-square canvas. It is the perfect addition to our home again this season! Thus, I wanted to share it with you. We all may have painted turkey-hands on paper but putting one on stretched canvas really makes for a seasonal keepsake to display—and it will last for many years!

The canvas is a 6×6 stretched white canvas (can be bought at Hobby Lobby). The grass on it was pre-painted at the birthday party with two different colors of green to create a contrast. At the birthday party, Sophia was called up to have her hand painted with colors she selected. Then as the party continued, the mini turkey canvas dried. The wiggly eye was added with a touch of hot glue prior to us leaving the birthday party.

If you are making these with a few little people at home, the process would be fairly simply. Here’s your supply list:

  • Stretched Canvas
  • Paintbrushes
  • Acrylic paints
  • Wiggly Eyes
  • Hot Glue

Add your own personal touches to make this little turkey gobbly-good for your home display!
