In West Tennessee, we have been ICED in for the week—–or will be!?! Schools have canceled for Thursday and Friday after having the earlier part of the week off—-and it is only Wednesday!?! But I don’t fret those little jolts of unexpected twists in life because there’s always JOY lurking in the midst of ordinary!

I just zipped a little wedding dress in the back of my almost seven year old. I hear her from across the house playing with her make-believe friend and her dolls. She figured out how to create a table in her playroom (rolling the ottoman from the living room into her playroom after calling Daddy to tell him to bring all his scrap wood home so that they could build a table TODAY!)……the heat just clicked on as I felt it across my face, the sunshine and the snow covered ice outside give me plenty of light…..and my crockpot is full of dinner….my kitchen table is piled high with papers….and a little tidbit of great news from Redbook’s latest issue (March 2015):

“Terrific news for the long stretch of time before your next vacation: Pleasurable moments in regular life bring as much happiness as big events, a new study found. “But you have to carve out time to document them and then make a point to rediscover them,” says researcher Ting Zhang of Harvard Business School. Snap a pic (or start a ‘happy list’ on your phone’s note-taking app) so your cloud is full of everyday joy, not just special occasions.”
