Strawberries are always a hit with my family. If I find a good deal on berries, I always freeze some for smoothies. Plus my family really enjoys frozen fruit – it’s often a “dessert” choice in our family. This smoothie recipe is super easy to make. Litsa used her Vitamix for this smoothie. If you don’t have a Vitamix or a very strong blender, you will need to chop the apple before blending.

Flash freezing is the best way to freeze berries for smoothies. When you flash freeze berries it prevents them from sticking together making it way to pull a cup out of the freezer at a time.

Strawberry Apple Smoothie Recipe
  • (1) Large Granny Smith Apple
  • 1 Cup Frozen Strawberries
  • (4) Fresh Strawberries
  • Water
  1. Add the apple, frozen strawberries and frozen strawberries to the blender. Add a bit of water to get the blender going. The amount of water will vary depending on how good of a blender you are using!
The fresh strawberries are used just to add to the pinkness of the smoothie and to make it a little less thick.
