Green Tea

Besides drinking tea on cold winter days, you might also find that tea is a clever tool to have on hand. Rereading about these tea ideas in Woman’s Day magazine this month was delightful—did you know that, TEA….

  • Zaps Odors: Tea leaves absorb ‘stinks’ rather than masking them. Use tea bags in your car, closet, pantry, or shoe bin to keep the areas smelling pleasant.
  • Reduces Redness: The antioxidants in tea can soothe dry, irritated winter skin. Spritz a dash of cooled green tea on your freshly washed body/face.
  • Keeps Plants Healthy: Giving houseplants a tea boost is easy by burying leaves from used tea bags just below the surface. And if you are a heavy tea drinker, recycle the rest of your tea leaves for your flower beds around your home. The spring blooms will thank you. Tea contains small amounts of nitrogen, which acts as a fertilizer. As you water your plants, the nutrients in the tea leaves will transfer to the soil.

These were my favorite three tea tricks that I enjoyed revisiting in Woman’s Day (February 2015 issue). There are additional clever tea uses that you can read about but until then brew a cup of tea and revisit the rest of our tea posts:
