Cpt M Lettuce

Our garden is growing great so far! We are expecting a lot of rain this weekend which should make the little plants take off this next week. I am amazed to see changes in the garden almost every day. The pepper plants have little flower buds and we have one cucumber that already has a flower on it.

Today we were able to harvest lettuce! This is the first successful year we have been able to harvest lettuce. Previously I started the seeds too late in the season. Since lettuce likes cooler temperatures, the 70 degree days we have had recently has really made it take off. I decided to harvest the whole head of lettuce and hope that we get another small head before the weather turns too hot.

The other items in the picture behind Capt. M are onions and carrots. They seem to be doing well although you never really know what is happening under the soil!

How is your garden coming along? Harvest anything yet?
