Taking a Coupon Break

I fully admit, I am on a coupon break.

Something had to give this last month with the amount of traveling we have done. It is always a fine balance trying to juggle work, family life, routine chores, couponing and this blog. When life gets too busy, something has to go. Although I love coupons, it was just not manageable this past month. Sure I used a few- but not to the extent that I normally do.

Today I grocery shopped on my lunch break. It was the only free time I had. I did keep my buy prices in mind and I looked for sale items. I also bought produce that was in season. We are also relying a lot on our stockpile and freezer items.

So why I am telling you this?

It is okay to take a couponing break! If life gets busy, prioritize. I will get back into the coupon groove once our schedule stabilizes (hopefully mid-August!). Sure I still cringe when my grocery bill comes to $100 as it did this week. But I am also relieved at the same time. Every minute is accounted for right now.

Do you ever take couponing breaks?

  1. I’ve been on a break since June 3 I just started buying newspapers July 31 2001 :)

    • Hi Joshua!
It seems like a lot of people take a coupon break in the summer. There is just so many other fun things to do! The good news is the coupons will be there when you get back into the game! Thanks for sharing!

  2. I’m on a partial break too. I was spending way too much time couponing, instead of spending that time with my kids, and it was starting to affect us all. I still clip coupons, but now I only spend about an hour a day doing it instead of all day. Family time comes first.
