Shout Unplug & Play

Technology is a wonderful thing that many of us rely on. Even my kindergartener has computers in his classroom. Although technology is beneficial, sometimes it is necessary to Unplug & Play. Last weekend I took a trip to Vancouver, Canada. I am usually attached to my cellphone in order to keep up with email, facebook and twitter. Since I was out of the country, my cellphone was a no go. As hard as it was, it turned out to be a nice break to be unplugged.

This weekend SC Johnson Shout is challenging all of you to Unplug & Play! Ditch the computer, ipad, television, gaming system, cellphone and what not. Head outside and play with your children. We are very fortunate that our boys love to play outside. Most of the time we have to beg them to come in. Sure they love playing on my tablet, the Wii or watching television but we always encourage outdoor and creative play.

We are supposed to have some rain this weekend which may put a halt on our fishing plans. If we can’t spend the morning at the lake, we will play board games in doors. Capt. M is just getting old enough to enjoy marathon games of Monopoly!

Shout encourages you to pledge to unplug & Play this weekend. Head on over to the Shout facebook page to participate. I would love to hear what activities you are planning on!

Disclosure: Shout is providing me with a prize pack and I will be holding a giveaway at a later date. I was not compensated in any other way and all opinions expressed are mine.

Hopefully the weather holds out for Saturday – I want to take my sons to a fishing derby/kids fun day while my husband pours our cement driveway. My boys love to be outside also.
