crochet scarves

For my Heartfelt Holiday’s series I am giving you ideas for homemade gifts. I am trying to post ideas that may take awhile first so that you can get to work on these projects well in advance of the Holiday season!

My mom, grandma and mother-in-law all love to make scarves. I think I have one in every color! There are so many types of yarn that can be used that it makes scarf making fun. Every year we exchange small gifts at my office. This year my mother-in-law has volunteered to make my co-workers scarves! I have never learned how to crochet and my mother-in-law is running out of people to make scarves for.

If you know how to crochet another idea is to make dish rags. Use 100% cotton yarn to make dish rags or towels. Since we try to use cloth napkins and towels the cotton dish rags are perfect!

Do you know how to crochet? I would love to here your gift ideas!

I have never learned either! My mom loves to make them too! My three year old just received one from my mom for her nameday! And I was able to steal one that she made from two different colors of brown yarn—she mixed the two since one color wouldn’t make a full scarf. I love it just as it is! Your co-workers will be delighted!

    • Hi Litsa!
My boys love their scarves too! My mother-in-law made them little ones last year. My boys can’t wait until it gets cold again because they love wearing scarves, hats and mittens!
