Are you finished with your Christmas shopping? The countdown to Christmas is on! I have just a few things left to buy and several homemade projects to finish. If you still need to shop, take a deep breath and follow these tips.

  • Make a list of every gift that has been purchased and who it’s for. Many times I am surprised to find that I have several people on my list covered already!
  • Consider making homemade gifts for those left on the list. Check out my Heartfelt Holidays series for inspiration. Remember it is the thought that counts- don’t get caught up in the gifts. I love to give homemade jam, zucchini bread, cookies and candy.
  • Before heading to the mall, make a list of what you are looking for. Print out coupons for retail stores too. I even go as far as checking prices online. Many brick and mortar stores also have online stores making it easy to compare prices. Doing a quick price comparison online will save you running from store to store.
  • Since time is ticking away, try and hit the stores without the kiddos. It is amazing how much faster I can shop when I am alone. Consider making a trip to the store after you put the kids to bed and hubby can take over.
  • Order gifts online to avoid the crowds. Remember to check out my Coupon Code Database for deals and coupons. You better hurry though as the last day to order without expedited shipping is approaching quickly.
  • Lastly, try to stick to your list. Don’t get caught up in the “this is such a great deal” game. There will be several things that tempt you as sale signs are everywhere. Remember what your mission is and stick to the plan!

What are your tips for avoiding the shopping rush? I would love to hear how you stay calm as the crowds increase and time runs out!
