Recently when Kroger’s Mega Sale and my coupon stash aligned for buying Soft Soap at under $0.25 each, I grabbed as many as my coupons allowed but I (Litsa) had already stockpiled our cabinets with Dial soap from a previous Kroger sale. Thus, I set these products aside (on our kitchen counter) for a little inspiration!
I wrote this little poem and spent the weekend with my daughter crafting bags to house them in for her preschool teachers. A little practical gift giving with a seasonal touch for a few cents out of pocket when our budget is stretched already….However, a deal that allowed us to give back in a creative manner and enjoy time together at the kitchen table designing our gift bag—-and hopefully by modeling this event (shopping on a budget and giving to others), the desire to give back (with what we have) will be instilled in our daughter!
May the flowers that surround your yard this spring bring you as much delight as you’ve shared with me this school year! Thank you for all your love and patience as you taught me! May this “Soft Soap” wash away the grime of the season and only leave behind the beauty you’ve bestowed with your gentle touch! With Love,Some of the poems were attached on the outside of the bag that contained the “Soft Soap” and in others, we placed the poem inside the bag as an added surprise!
Simple touches—even practical, unexpected “Thank Yous” are always welcomed!
How will you say thank you to teachers that inspired you and your child(ren)?
