DIY Chalkboard Tray

I found some chalkboard spray paint in our basement recently and had to find a project to use it on! I headed to the Dollar Tree and found some sliver metal trays that were perfect. These little chalkboard trays can be used for so many things- decoration, display a menu or fun for the kids.

Clean the trays to make sure there is no dirt or greasy film. Make sure the tray is completely dry.

Tape off the portion of the tray that you don’t want painted. Use painters tape and newspaper. The painters tape makes it easy to peel off when the paint is dry.

Spray the chalkboard paint according to the directions on the bottle. I applied one coat, let it dry completely and then applied another coat.

Let the chalkboard paint for 24 hours and then peel off the tape and newspaper. Ta da! An easy chalkboard tray to use for various things.
