Hummingbird Feeder

When visiting my mom and stepdad last week we had the pleasure of watching numerous hummingbirds! They have several hummingbird feeders that are often full with little visitors. My stepdad makes his own hummingbird food to keep up with the hungry visitors. Homemade hummingbird food is simple to make. It will also save you a ton of money if you do it yourself!

Hummingbird Food Recipe

1 Cup Sugar
4 Cups Water

In a large pot, combine water and sugar. Heat to dissolve the sugar but do not boil. Cool and refrigerate until you need to fill your feeders.

My stepdad makes a quadruple batch every week. There is no need to place red dye in the hummingbird food; they like the clear juice just fine!

It’s relaxing to watch the hummingbirds since you have to be quiet and peaceful for them to appear!
