Dry Fresh Herbs for Winter

Dry Oregano

As we head towards Fall, remember to dry fresh herbs for winter! If you live in an area that freezes, most likely your fresh herbs won’t make it through winter. I have started drying oregano, basil, dill, mint, sage and rosemary.

I recently bought a Weston dehydrator and started drying the herbs that way. However, I think it is just as easy and more cost efficient to air dry herbs.

Dried Herbs in Jars

My goal is to make some homemade spice mixes to go in Christmas baskets this year! Home dried herbs smell so fragrant and I think are more flavorful than store bought dried herbs.
