Clothes line

When I pulled into the driveway the other day the first thought that entered my head was, “you might be a redneck if you have clothes hanging in your yard with chickens in the background!”.

OR you just might have a broken dryer!

Our front loader dryer is only five years old. It decided to stop working the day we left for vacation last week. Hubby thought he could fix it himself. It turns out to be a bit more complicated than he anticipated. We are contemplating hiring someone, although that could get close to what a new dryer would cost. It’s the great debate- fix it or buy a new one?

It’s really frustrating to think that appliances last only a few years these days. My in-laws are having issues with a refrigerator that is just a few years old too. Appliances are expensive. And they should be made to hold up for longer than five years.

So for now, we are air drying our laundry! Hubby has a clothes line outside and one in our loft inside. It has been raining almost daily for weeks now so we need the backup inside clothes line.

The clothes line will give us time to figure out a plan and save up some money. Plus, we will save on the electric bill!
