We have a gas fireplace in our living room that we use during the winter months. It comes on handy when we have unfortunate power loss (like last winter when we were without power for 50 hours!). When hubby lit the pilot lite last week, it reminded me to check our carbon monoxide alarm. Thankfully I checked the alarm because the batteries were dead!

If you have a gas fireplace, stove, furnace or water heater make sure that you have a working carbon monoxide alarm in your house. Carbon monoxide is a silent killer since it is an odorless, colorless and tasteless. Take some time to check the batteries in your carbon monoxide alarm and fire detectors. Batteries are at low prices right now- just $0.99 to $1.49 at Kroger right now!

Carbon Monoxide AlarmIf you don’t have a carbon monoxide alarm, you can find them for as low as $14 on Amazon!
