Monday afternoon, the yard crew mowed my neighbor’s yard. I (Litsa) should have known by now (six years into being neighbors) that there was an event scheduled since it wasn’t her “normal” yard day! Yes! Her sewing circle arrived at noon today—on Tuesday! Everyone filled her driveways—front and back! And one van parked in our yard (a little company at our house is always welcomed—even if it’s just a van)!! Each guest arrived looking glamorous even in their late seventies! I didn’t see any “sewing” materials but Mrs. Polly, my neighbor, has shared that they now just rotate homes enjoying the stories of their lives and savoring lunch together! Which I think is just fabulous——–women sowing love, faith, and life into one another!

Girls’ night out is now doctor’s orders: According to a study from Bringham Young University in Utah, maintaining ties to your pals can be as important for your healthy as working out, eating well, and not smoking. Researchers estimated that people with many social connections were 50% more likely to outlive their solitary peers. The strongest effect was seen in people who had a spouse and plenty of friends and family and managed to carve out time to spend with them! These lucky (and busy) ducks were 91% more likely to live longer. The research didn’t look at the quality of those connections, so simple variety might be the key, says lead researcher Julianne Holt-Lunstad, Ph.D at BYU.” She noted, “every relationship is different, so each one might prompt us to care for different sides of ourselves.”

How many Lifesavers do you surround yourself with in today’s social media world!?! Let your friends cover you with love. Laugh with one another about your days being wild and carefree! Dump on another about all that drives you crazy about being a Mom. Find one friend that cares about your BMI and workout routines. Starting a business!?! Cover yourself. Love to budget and save for rainy days——find a friend to chat about savings plans. Love deals and family? Well, we have you covered!

Now, go call a friend that’s been on your mind!
