One of my favorite homemade gifts to give is decorative glassware. For one, glassware can be found very inexpensively at yard sales, thrift stores and the dollar store. With just a little effort, a simple glass vase can be turned into a beautiful centerpiece. One easy vase and candlestick project is making homemade hurricane pieces. I made these hurricane vases a few years ago and they still reside in my living room!

swirl vase

To add a little color to your glass vases, make these swirl vases! I plan on making some of these as gifts this year. The neat thing about this project is that you can coordinate the colors to match the decorative style of the recipient. My sister-in-law has red and blue in her kitchen so I plan on making her a red and blue vase! This is a very simple project that children can help with too. Find out all of the instructions for a DIY Swirl Vase over at Thrifty Jinxy.

plate-stand

Another easy glassware project is a homemade plate stand! Decorative plates and a candlestick easily convert to a plate stand. Checkout the directions for a plate stand here.
