essential oils

Essential oils are a hot topic currently! It is a subject that I know little about but I am eager to learn the benefits. My sister, Valarie, is a a doTERRA consultant and will be sharing her essential oil journey with us. I look forward to learning about the different essential oils and their benefits!

Essential oils are naturally occurring compounds in plants. The oils are aromatic- like the smell of fresh cut basil or a rose. They can be extracted from seeds, bark, stems, roots and flowers. Essential oils can be powerful and provide beautiful smells. They provide the plants with protection against disease, predators and aid in plant pollination. The oil is extracted so that we can use it for wellness in many aspects of our lives. Essential oils have been used throughout history in many cultures for medicinal and therapeutic benefits. They are a holistic approach to wellness!

A good example of an essential oil: If you squeeze the peel of a fresh ripe orange, what is left over on your hands is the essential oils of the orange!

I am trying essential oils to offer my family the purest and most natural health benefits possible. I am not the mom who believes in pumping my children and husband full of prescribed or over the counter drugs that are made in a lab by scientists. Essential oils are natural since they come from plants- so it makes sense to put them into our organic bodies to aid in healing the natural way. There are so many health benefits from essential oils such as respiratory health, anti-aging, immunity boosters, memory support, cell regeneration, pain management, relaxation, clarity and so much more.
