Try Something New: Whole Wheat Naan

naanI (Litsa) love bread! Whole wheat, baked, grilled, sesame buns—you name it! I can’t say that I remember many meals at the family table growing up without bread! Bread was a given—a side dish if you must!?! Thus, I’m always willing to try new breads.

Tandoori Naan Whole Wheat was my try something new for the week (and from our family’s monthly shopping trip to Whole Foods Market)! I picked our Naan in the bread section. Four “pita-like” flatbreads wrapped in plastic but very fresh! You could almost see them sweat inside the packaging! Thus, they promoted an instant pizza recipe at home!

pizzaTandoori Naan Whole Wheat: Hand-stretched and baked in a tandoor oven—a whole grain, heartier version of this tender, delicious Indian flatbread. Brushed with olive oil and warmed, naan is the perfect accompaniment to any meal. But with its versatile shape and consistency, naan also has dozens of other delightful uses (i.e. wraps, soups & salad side bread, pizza, etc.).

The Naan that I tried was Whole Food Market’s 365 brand! However, there are many recipes for making your own naan flatbread at home. I will search for these at our local grocery store in town because I do believe they are indeed versatile!

What did I think of the taste!?!

Whole Wheat perfection for this bread lover!

A must try…….
