Organized Room to Room: The Bathroom

I have fallen behind on the organizing series since our house is in construction mode! Today we are going to cover the master bathroom. I have to tell you I can’t really show you what my master bathroom looks like at the moment since it looks more like a picture from the Hoarders show! We tore out a linen closet and thus everything is piled in the bathtub. So today I share past pictures with you!

The Linen Closet

Linen Closet After

I have posted about my health and beauty stockpile organization before. My mom helped me organize using clear plastic shoe boxes. Make sure to take out any items you do not use and donate them. Being a coupon shopper you are sure to accumulate free products that you won’t use!

Make sure you fold your towels and sheets. It makes a big difference if you fold the linens! Believe me, I used to just shove them in the closet. There is so much more room if you stack things neatly.

The Makeup

For items you use on a daily basis consider using a drawer type plastic organizer. I have a 3-drawer organizer underneath my sink. I place the makeup and facial items I use daily in the top drawer. In the morning I can pull out the whole drawer and place it on the counter to use. This system works really well if you have limited drawer space! In the lower drawers, place items you use less often.

The Hairdryer

I am terrible about putting things away when I use them on a daily basis. My hairdryer is one items that never left the bathroom counter. The busy mornings leave little time to wind up the cord and put it away. Hubby came up with an idea to place a hook on the end of the cabinet to hang my hairdryer. It is a simple solution and keeps the counter clutter free. The way the our counter sits, you can’t really see the hairdryer hanging when you walk into the bathroom.

The Medication

As you are organizing your bathroom make sure to look for expired medication. The FDA has guidelines for drug disposal. Please take the proper precautions in throwing out medications- even over the counter medications.

All of you have different bathroom spaces, storage areas and needs. When you are working on organizing the bathroom think of ways to place the daily essentials in easily accessible areas.
