As many of you know, we lost our dog Clemens in early November. Capt. M had a really hard time with his passing. He asked Santa for a puppy for Christmas. Hubby and I had long discussions about getting a new pup so soon. However, we decided if we could find the right puppy we would go for it. Plus I am of work for 17 days so it is perfect timing!
I looked for puppies on Craigslist for a couple of weeks. We like the working breeds like a border collie, Australian shepherd or Australian cattle dog (blue heeler). I found puppies that were an Australian shepherd, cattle dog and lab mix. When I went to look at them, I had a hard time deciding between the sweet Aussie looking boy with blue eyes and his sister with pock-a-dot legs! Hubby said, get them both! So we did! I know, a bit crazy!

Mr. B took a liking to Luke right away! And if you haven’t guessed, they are named after Star Wars characters Princess Leia and Luke! Mr. B wanted to name his puppy Darth Vader but we don’t need the dark side at home!
Puppies are sweet and cuddly but require a lot of attention. It’s like having an infant again! They are into everything and they don’t sleep through the night. Overall, they are very smart puppies. We have had minimal accidents in the house and they have already learned to sit for a treat!
Get ready for some puppy posts! I just can’t resist sharing our adventures with our new fur babies!

OMG Renae they are adorable! I LOVE those names too. I probably would have wanted a Darth Vader too lol!!! I am so happy for you guys. The kids are so adorable also. They look so happy. You guys picked beautiful puppies. I love the pictures under the tree. I can’t wait for more puppy posts!
