A couple of weeks ago we talked about fascia and how it is responsible for many aches and pains. Remember that fascia is wrapped all around your muscles like a protective coating. Sometimes fascia gets bound up creating an extra pull on muscles which results in unwanted pain. In order to feel better, you must release the fascia. Foam rollers are great for releasing fascia. If you want something a little more intense and involved, checkout Trigger Point Performance Therapy.

I have been using Trigger Point Therapy for about a year and a half. It’s a learning curve to learn how to do this correctly. Many of the kits come with a DVD which is really helpful. I use the Quadballer and the TP Massage Ball on a daily basis. From sitting all day I am normally tight in my hips and quads. The quadballer is great for rolling quadriceps and hamstrings. I use the TP massage ball for my hands, back and pecks.

Trigger Point Therapy is an investment, but the rollers will not compress over time like other foam rollers.
