Try Something New: Natural Peanut Butter

peanut butter

We are slowly trying to eat healthier- getting rid of high fructose corn syrup and preservatives. One thing that I recently changed was our peanut butter. My boys eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches almost daily. Have you ever read the label on a peanut butter jar? Many of them contain a high amount of sugar!

The all natural peanut butter is just ground up peanuts- no added sugar! It needs to be stored int he fridge and it does separate a bit requiring mixing. I changed out the peanut butter a couple of weeks ago and my boys have not noticed a difference at all. Not one peep about the peanut butter being different. It is a bit runnier than the “other” peanut butter but tastes great.

Have you tried something new recently? Do you use natural peanut butter?

  1. I use natural peanut butter most of the time. You don’t have to mix all that separated oil back into it, though you do need to refrigerate it so it doesn’t separate again. The latest brand I tried was from Kroger, and I poured out most of the oil. Even though there wasn’t much left it still was more runny than the other type of PB that you were talking about, but with a whole lot less oil.
